Chalet Details
The three story, modified A frame
chalet (sleeps 10) sits atop a moutain ridge overlooking the Blue
Ridge mountains, beautiful valleys and a quaint southern town
called Blairsville. You'll love to cook out and relax on the huge
main deck which affords a 180 degree view, year round. Gas grill,
picnic table and patio table with umbrella and seating is available
on the main deck.
Every day, every hour is a different
view of mountains and sky. Sunsets are spectacular and, at night,
you'll be charmed by the town lights as they twinkle on at sunset
no matter what floor you're on! Spring brings beautiful Dogwood
blossoms from the trees on the property and fall foliage across
the entire expanse of the surrounding mountains and valleys from
September through November.
Inside the chalet are two main living
areas. The first floor is notty-pine finished and comes complete
with living room, kitchen, refrigerator, and appliances. The first
floor has a queen foldout couch and a large pull out day bed and
a full bath. A washer and dryer are available for your convenience
as well as a concrete deck/lanai which overlooks the valley below.
The open beam and notty-pine finished
second floor includes a living room, a full kitchen complete with
stove/oven, refrigerator and appliances. A seperate dining area,
that seats 6, is also part of the second floor and provides a
valley/mountain view as you dine. The second, or main deck floor,
includes a foldout queen-sized couch and a half bath with shower.
You will access the main deck area from either the first floor
stairs or directly from the second floor.
Upstairs, on the open beam and notty-pine
finished third floor are two seperate bedrooms with full sized
beds sharing a full bath. The West bedroom has its' own deck for
your viewing enjoyment.
Please bring your small pet(s) as
the chalet is pet friendly. The property is not fenced and is
on a paved road so watch your pet. Ashtrays are provided on the
outside decks for your smoking needs. The chalet is our second
home and we'd beg that you treat it like it was yours. Parties
are welcome but please be gentle. Neighboring homes are spaced
widely apart on either side or are down the ridge and below the
chalet. There are no homes behind the chalet, across the road
in back, with the exception of a ridge about a half mile away
as the crow flies.
There is no phone service with the
chalet but Sprint, Verison, and Cingular cell services have been
reported to have full signal. Television is limited to local channels
but a VCR/DVD is available. There are 20 or 30 VHS tapes for your
convience. Blairsville and surrounding Union County are "dry"
and you cannot purchase alcohol there but surrounding counties
are "wet" and include quite a few Wineries with excellent
bunch grape and muscedine variety wines. Just to the east on US
76/515 is the town of Young Harris that has a nice winery called
Crane Creek Winery. To the west is the town of Blue ridge which
is also wet. About twenty miles to the south there is a quaint
little town called Helen, or "Alpine Helen". Helen is
a unique German-like town and beautiful vacation mecca. It is
an Alpine retreat that is wet as well as they observe Octoberfest
every Sept through Oct. We highly recommend Betty's store in Helen.
Very gourmet.
